Gabriel

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 29, 2009, 12:22 PM

Well, as many of you may have seen, I've written a lot of stories about my character, Gabriel. For those that didn't know, Gabriel was a character from the World of Darkness LARP (Live-Action Role Play) that I do every month here, based around the Vampire: The Masquerade game system. Write ups give me extra XP for my characters, but also, they're a lot of fun for me to do and I wound up really enjoying Gabriel as a character. So, for now, here are all the parts, in their proper reading order. A few more in between and after are going to show up, so keep an eye out.

Gabriel: Origins

Gabriel: Awakening

Gabriel: Signs

Gabriel: Clash

Gabriel: Sermons

Gabriel: Requiem

Rules for Kickin' Ass for Civilians

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 27, 2009, 12:50 PM

I got this in my e-mail from :icontherealkarity:, and thought it was hilarious!

Dear Civilians, 'We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military.

For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem - kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest - kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

4. If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be 'Special Forces'. Collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old, now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an *Air Force* member, do not ask them, 'Do you fly a jet?' Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the *US Coast Guard* 'non-military', inform them of their mistake - and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your
heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her - of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party
affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief (CinC). The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked.

9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me - stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore would kick your ass!

10. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying 'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls
are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me - if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go
kick their ass!

11. 'Flyboy' (*Air Force*), 'Jarhead' (*Marines*), 'Grunt' (*Army*), 'Squid' (*Navy*), ';Puddle Jumpers' (*Coast Guard*), etc., are terms of
endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them could get your ass kicked.

12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and
religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and
airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our Country would get it's ass kicked.

'It's the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.'

'It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.'

'It's the Veteran, not the community organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.'

'It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.'

AND ONE MORE:

13. If you ever see anyone either standing for or singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS.

Why Isn't Anyone Paying Attention - POLITICAL RANT

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 15, 2009, 11:01 PM

They've tested nuclear refinement.
They've tested missile lengths and systems.
They attempted to launch a missile into space (and failed after they said they succeeded).
They've put two free US citizens into a labor camp for 12 years after a closed doors trial.
They flaunted the UN sanctions against them, declaring any use to stop their nuclear arming an 'act of war'.

That's right, I'm talking about North Korea.

They're sitting there, flaunting against the UN, pushing against the US, against the rest of the world in their attempts to quell the growing powderkeg that the country is becoming. They're going to screw the world if we don't start focusing on them, and making them STOP it.

We shouldn't just be sitting back when they put two free US female reporters into a hard labor camp for twelve years, after a trial that no one was actually allowed to see. They're not allowed to contact their family, or even consult with the US at all. They're stuck there unless we go in.

The UN told them that they need to cease their nuclear weaponization. They said no. They didn't ignore it, or move underground, they said, explicitly, that they were going to continue weaponizing their nuclear program. And that any act against them would be declared an act of war.

We should be worrying. We should be preparing. We should be acting.

So why isn't anyone paying attention?

Stuff, Edits, Pictures, Twitter?

Mon Mar 16, 2009, 2:22 PM
The internet has it's claws in me.

I have a motherf*ckin' Twitter. [link]

That's right, I Tweet now. It's actually kinda cool, seeing what my favorite webcomic artists are up to, even John McCain has one (hearing that he was standing up against the new spending bill VIA Twitter is what sorta got me going on it). So I'll be tweeting... probably nothing terribly substantial. Just for fun. :)

I got a digital camera! It's pretty sweet, a Fujifilm J10, 8.2mpxl, 3x optical zoom, video with audio, the works! ^_^ It's very nice, and I also got it on ubersale from Best Buy. Instead of $100-120 (depending on where you look), I got it for $84.99, because it was 1) on clearance, 2) open box, and 3) floor model. They also had an 8gb HCSD (high capacity... whatever SD stands for) card for $20!!! ^_^ I lucked out big time on that.

Oh, I also put up an edit for my deviantID photograph of the man behind the magic. I found a site online that does good resizing quality that doesn't store your photo online (I was planning to use Imageshack to resize it, but then it'd be up there, and at least here I know when it's accessed), and it's now a nice comfortable 720p x 450p. Easier on the eyes, and not as huge. ^_^

So, I've started working on Gemini Dawn (Parts 1 and 2 are in my gallery) again, with a drive to finish it! I can't keep saying about when I become a big novelist if I don't write something every once in a while! So, it's off to work I go (well, besides schoolwork, but that's another story).

DC Trip on Friday, Twilight release party (w/Linda ^_^) on Friday night, LARPin' on Saturday... this is gonna be a good weekend!
